At the end of the day, Pathfinders is all about providing encouragement, opportunities and teaching for our youth to become “mature in Christ” (Colossians 1:28).
From a young age, our youth should understand that they are an important part of the church. This is why we encourage the youth to worship alongside their parents and other adults each Sunday.
We also believe that youth ministry is done not only by our pastors, but by every adult in the congregation. Our role is to equip and encourage parents and the other adults to help raise these kids to be strong in the faith.
Most importantly, we believe that youth ministry must be rooted in grace through faith. Thus, the “means of grace” - Scripture, the sacraments, Christian fellowship, and prayer - remain at the center of our ministry. All of these point us to Jesus, our Lord and Savior, “...The founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2)
Yes, we definitely have fun, but we do so with the desire to have our minds renewed around the breathtaking reality of the grace we have in Christ, by the Spirit, through the Father who is love.
